#4: Who Knew Broken Harmoniums Could Sound So Sexy?

Thanks to the generous citizens of Park Slope, my roommate's VCR, and my own tendency to gravitate towards free stuff on the street, this week we all learn about The Pointer Sisters' "Pinball Number Count." Apparently, for years, kids all over the world got down to it while learning to count. This is something to be proud of, Pointer Sisters!!

Thanks to Ms. Piper's curiosity, we all get a lesson about the Moog, which was developed by Dr. Robert Moog. After I finish this post, I am going to research who the most eligible Mr. Moog is nowadays, and hopefully become Sunny Moog. If that plan fails, I will try the Theramin family.

Oran Juice Jones! Where were you for episode #1?

Sometimes, after you finish projects, you discover other things that should have been included in those projects. Take, for instance, this song, which should have been included in episode #1.

Premiere Episode: A Foreshadowing: Rain!

Rain is a ubiquitous theme in music, and has many applications. Most conveniently, rain camouflages our tears when we're heartbroken. It often symbolizes melancholy points in life, but, dynamically, also symbolizes redemption and fulfillment. Why else would we pray for rain? Rain makes us quiet, contemplative, or else resentful that we're indoors and contained, though it can work to our advantage if we're with a sweetie.  Sometimes, we aren't talking about rain at all. What we literally mean is conflict, pain, violence, passion. Whatever rain is intended to mean, we've surely all been there.

Mission statement, etc.

This is my very second music blog, and I am so excited that you chose to click here! On this blog, you will find links to my radio show on, words I have written about the shows, and song lists, so that you don't have to listen in darkness. Although, if you want, go ahead and listen in (actual) darkness. All I do is provide the soundtrack here; what you choose to do with it is your business.
